Lady S speaks – Scribe turns student! – Chapter 2

(….contd…)

Hello Readers!

Sincere apologies. Life as an aspiring lawyer is evidently tougher than it looks. From long hours of academic work to internships, the journey has been exhausting. But I have no regrets! It has been a roller-coaster ride like none other. In the past 1.5 years, I have been exposed to various ‘Gen-Z slang phrases’, a wide range of first-world problems (which often concern strangely exorbitant communication devices and branded outfits), and fantastic northern Indian food.

Hold on! The bragging ends right there. For the world beyond those truly green pastures is quite contradictory. It is a zone that knows no debate; where hardships are the way of life and every task is part of the divine life granted by the force that shapes the universe.

Allow me to elaborate. Every morning in class, I am compelled to sit amidst citizens whose parents (many of whom hail from financially sound backgrounds) venting about the stress and struggles of their early 20s. Four hours later the domestic help of campus’ residential buildings narrate their stories of cooking on a chulha, early marriages, and desires to educate themselves whilst tidying up our rooms cheerfully.

My quest for justice led me to court hearings at various levels of the judicial system and many insightful interactions with some of India’s most respected legal minds. I admit that this experience has further enhanced my love for reading and learning too. Honestly, this is a space that ought to be explored by everybody, irrespective of their strata in society.

Maybe, someday, I could work towards bridging this gap between individuals and make my countrymen the most legally ware group of individuals in the world. Until then, being a sincere student is all that my soul can fathom!
