Warriors of Coconut Land – Part 4

Each warm-up exercise is meant to not only improve a person’s flexibility but also to further strengthen the joints, bones, and muscles so as prevent any major injury during combat.

Warm-up exercise 4: Place your arms together with the palms facing away from you. Breathe in and bend forward. Try to touch the right foot with both arms. Exhale; rotate the body clockwise and touch the left foot. While doing so, squat completely, such that the right leg remains stretched while the left leg is folded. Repeat the drill in the opposite direction.

This exercise stretches your hips, thighs, knee, ankle and the back.

Warm-up exercise 5: Place your hands on your hips. Bend forward and then bend backward. Gradually, try to stretch your limits.

This exercise strengthens the spine.

Warm-up exercise 6: Fold your hands behind you. Raise your right leg and stretch it forward. The leg has to be parallel to the ground. Repeat the drill with the left leg. This exercise could be practiced for three rounds.

This exercise strengthens the legs and improves your ability to stay balanced as well as focused.

Warm-up exercise 7: Place your hands before you. Raise your right leg and stretch it sideways. The leg has to be parallel to the ground. Repeat the drill with the left leg. This exercise could be practiced for three rounds.

Warm-up exercise 8: Touch your right hand to the heel of your foot while your left-hand remains raised. Raise your right leg and stretch it forward. Repeat the drill with the left foot. This exercise could be practiced for three rounds.

Raise your right leg backward and touch your toes with your right hand while the hand remains raised. Raise your right leg and stretch it forward. The leg has to be parallel to the ground. Repeat the drill with the left leg. This exercise could be practiced for three rounds.

These exercises strengthen the legs and improves your ability to stay balanced as well as focused.
